Security Camera Standards

New regulations are proposed to replace the current Liquor Control Reform Regulations 1999 which are due to expire on 15 February 2010. The proposed new regulations re-make provisions in relation to standards for security cameras on licensed premises with amendments to improve the quality of Close Circuit Television (CCTV) images from licensed premises whilst minimising the regulatory burden on licensees.

The Regulatory Impact Statement explains the likely impact of the proposed changes to the minimum standards for security cameras and assesses the costs and benefits of the proposal.

Minimum standards for security cameras were first introduced on 6 October 2008. At this time, the regulations were subject to a Regulatory Impact Statement, which was released in May 2008 (2008 RIS).
