MPEG-4 versus
JPEG 2000
compression algorithm ???
JPEG 2000
advantages include: Higher Resolution 207 360 Pixels/Channel @ 100 ips, Higher
Recording Rate up to 480 ips, easier image indexing, no mosaic (block)
effect during playback, better Playback Image Quality, stable images
when rapid movement occurs. Comparably priced 16 Channel MPEG-4 DVR disadvantages
include: Lower Resolution usually 103 680 pixels @ 100 ips, Lower Recording Rate
usually 100 ips maximum, Poorer Playback image quality, unstable
images when rapid movement occurs.
