A GANG of thieves have been caught on camera while breaking into several Territory businesses.

Police have praised the CCTV footage for helping them catch the three offenders, aged 16, 23 and 27.

They allege the men and a teen broke into several commercial properties in Berrimah, Palmerston and Humpty Doo, smashing windows and stealing alcohol, just after midnight last night.

Police received reports from the Humpty Doo Tavern, the Berrimah Supermarket and the Palmerston Golf Club before officers identified the teen and his partners-in-crime and arrested them at a house in Berrimah.

"Numerous police were involved in locating these offenders and with the assistance of CCTV cameras, we were able to apprehend the offenders within a short space of time," Territory police duty superintendent Dean Moloney said.

"These cameras make our jobs a lot easier as it is yet another tool we have in our arsenal against crime."
