Transmitter MODULE

Transmitter Interface PCB
Inputs: Power 8 VDC (8 ~ 13 VDC if a Heatsink is fitted to Regulator) ~ 210 mA via 1.3 mm x 3.5 mm DC socket, center pin positive. Audio L & R via RCA sockets. Standard Composite Video 75 ohms via RCA socket. Output: DC Power-In loops out via a Diode and 3.5 mm mono phono socket. Other: Power On/Off & Channel select switches, Power LED. Dimensions: ~ 105 mm x ~ 87 mm x ~  15 mm, excludes sockets, switches, etc. ~ 38 grams.

Receiver MODULE
Inputs: Antenna 50 ohms impedance unbalanced via solder terminal on PCB. Power 5 VDC regulated. Outputs: Base-Band. Dimensions: ~ 57  mm x ~ 45 mm x ~ 15 mm, excludes pins and socket, ~ 42 grams.

Receiver Interface PCB
Input: Power 8 VDC (8 ~ 14 VDC if a Heatsink is fitted to Regulator) ~ 280 mA via 1.3 mm x 3.5 mm DC socket, center pin positive. Outputs: DC Power-In loops out via a Diode and 3.5 mm mono phono socket. Audio L & R line level via RCA sockets. Standard Composite Video 75 ohms via RCA socket. Other: Power On/Off & Channel select switches, Power LED. Dimensions: ~ 105 mm x ~ 86 mm x ~ 15 mm, excludes sockets, switches, etc, ~ 49 grams.

TX/RX KitSet V2 consists of TX and RX Modules and Interface PCBs, Modules and PCBs are assembled and fully tested. Assembly involves soldering Antenna Coax Cable to PCB Track in Module, plugging Module into PCB or connecting to PCBs via wires and enclosure in a housing, no tuning or alignment required. All components are fitted to PCBs including Inductors, Sockets, Switches, ICs, Capacitors, etc., connection and operating notes are supplied. A simple 1/4 wave antenna consisting of a straight piece of ~ 35 mm wire is adequate for short range applications. For Compact applications the Transmitter PCB may be dispensed with and connections made directly to pins, Channel selection may be hard wired. No Circuits or Data available.

Video Transmitters may be legally used without a licence within the *LIPD 2400 ~ 2463 MHz Band and 10 mW *EIRP limit.

Depends on surroundings, obstructions, structures, antenna gain, other transmitters, EMI and RFI in the vicinity.

Whip antennas are for most practical purposes omni or non directional when used vertically.

Antenna Gain... what does it mean ???
a simplified explanation

Received signal strength from an antenna with 3 dBi gain will be double that from an antenna that has 0 dBi gain, received signal strength from a 6 dBi will be double that from a 3 dBi and so on... An increase in antenna gain of 3 dBi is approximately equal to doubling the transmitter output, received signal strength or range can be increased by raising antenna gain or transmitter output. Range can be doubled by either increasing antenna gain by 6 dBi or quadrupling the transmitter output.

The maximum allowed 2.4 GHz LIPD Video Transmitter output power is 10 milliwatts (mW) EIRP (in Australia), increasing transmitter output is illegal and therefore not an option.

Increasing the gain of the receiver antenna is an alternative to increasing transmitter output.
In very simple terms: increasing antenna gain from 0 dBi to 3 dBi is equivalent to raising the transmitter output from 10 mW to ~ 20 mW, 5 dBi ~ 33 mW, 8 dBi ~ 66 mW, 12 dBi ~ 160 mW, 15 dBi ~ 320 mW, 18 dBi ~ 640 mW, 21 dBi ~ 1280 mW, 24 dBi ~ 2560 mW.
